Our Promise

We specialize in custom designed unique contemporary fine handcrafted furniture that showcases the individual beauty of the wood. We offer the highest quality craftsmanship so your heirloom furniture will last for generations with the right care.

All of our products are 100% Made in America authentic Western carpentry by master craftsman Gary Havener in the Centennial Valley, Wyoming.

Bringing out the beauty of a unique piece of wood is rewarding. Working with a client to blend the wood’s beauty with their dream is even more so. We have made complementary chip carved end pieces for an antique desk, and designed staircases to mimic those in a client’s favorite TV show. Commission us to create something unique for you.

Our Style

Our woodworking is a unique, self-taught blend of Scandinavian smoothness and Asian joinery. Elegant lines and silky smooth finishes are a trademark of our work. While most people know our furniture, we also build smaller pieces like knives, bows and even spoons.

Finding the right wood is the first step, building the piece to highlight the wood's individuality is the key. Simple clean lines that don’t get in the way of the beauty of the wood is a commitment of Ace in the Hole Woodworks.

Our custom designed furniture is handcrafted one piece at a time and built to your specifications. Height, wood choice and special details are incorporated to build the desk you are dreaming of.

Our Product

We work with wood and lumber that is sustainably harvested, reclaimed, or hand-collected. We prefer working with sustainable, North American hardwoods such as maple, spalted maple, birch, walnut or cherry and try to select that wood directly from the small, owner-operated mills we buy from. Walnut and maple are our favorite woods to work with, although we often finds usual woods, such as spalted hackberry or mulberry at the mills. Because we produce one piece at ta time, we can choose individual pieces of lumber designed for a specific piece. Our willows are hand-collected from the Snowy Range Mountains.

We prefer to use hand tools - Japanese as well as traditional European ones - to bring out the luster of lumber. All of our products use environmentally friendly finishes.
